Default Battery

I have my new Treo 680 for a week now.
And I haven't have a problem with the battery until yestarday. When I went to be it was about 90% and when I wake up it was like 87% 30 min later it was 40% the only different I did was to leave bluetooth on.

Can the bluetooth drain that much the battery just by leaving it on? None of my cells did that ever

Thanks... If I get a 1600mAh battery instead of the 1200 that came with the Treo will make a difference?

Yes! You will have a bit more time! Try also dimming the brightness of your screen. When indoors or at a meeting ... turn off the Bluetooth ... this saves alot of power.
Good luck!

There are number of "tricks" to increasing battery life on the 680. As mention reducing the screen brightness and toggling Bluetooth Off when it isn't needed are good tips. You can manage these features, and alot more, by using a power manager like PowerMan or Power Hero. Each let's you setup profiles/prefs that you can activate a different times during you daily routine.

Additionally, I'd recommend set the Prefs/Date & Times/ Auto Set = Nothing, and manually set this data. This save the phone checking the network intermittently to verify these settings.

The battery reset procedure described earlier in this thread is very effective. And the 1600 mAh battery is also a huge help without alterring the form factor of the 680.

Thank you for the information I would like to do the battery meter reset because after a charge my phone shows the battery at 100% and then once I disconnect the plug in it immediately goes to 90% I don't know if it is a battery, phone or meter problem.

Is shutting off treo alarm just having the alarm off or is there more to it?

Thanks so much,

J

Jaybin, It depends One If you use your device until the battery is almost with no charge and very often. And this is not recommended to do in the user manual instructions. If this is the case, your battery maybe is starting not to charge properly. To keep your battery life long , charge it when it is with a 30 to 50% charge available.

Two If this is not the case Maybe is your meter as you wrote.

Three Try to let the battery charging a little more after you get the green light. It is safe.

I have had this issue from the very start I have only had the phone a few weeks. I charge the phone every night but sometimes a days usage gets it down to only twenty-percent available.

Jaybin, If you bought the device new just a few weeks ago. In your case claim the guarantee as fast as you can Return the device to palm or your operator and if you are on time, they will send you a new one but be sure that your operator is sending it to Palm Inc.
