    Default Can't Reaquire Network

My 680 works fine except for one major issue. If I lose network connectivity, the phone will not reconnect without a soft reset, regardless of the signal strength in the area. It just displays the message "Network Search...". For example, I have 4 bars, go into elevator, lose signal, get out and get "Network Search.." continuously. Then only thing that get's signal (4 bars) back is soft reset. Has anyone had this problem?

Yes. Also, since problem would not go away, I replaced the phone at the Cingtular store. They said they hadn't heard of this problem. I told them to look at Treocentral.com 680 forum. There is a growing incidence of this problem. Here's hoping the new 680 doesn't have the same problem....

maybe its a manufacturing problem like the alleged speaker microphone which was nou hooked up at the factory. Who know but hopefully not. If so that with the earlier problem and the delays with the 750 for cingular willl not be helpful for either palm or gingular

I replaced the phone two days ago. New phone reconnects to network with no problem. FYI, I used the same SIM that was in the original 680.

I spoke too soon I guess. The new phone has now started showing the same symptoms. Cingular said to try a new SIM, which I did today. We'll see what happens next.....
