December 11 Treo update patch
Product update 2.11
I installed it, foolishly without searching forums first.
I can't hotsync and it looks like I can't backup my original stuff on my 680.
Anyone else having issues with this thing?

I am right there with you. I installed it and now I can't sync to my computer. It gets stuck on "contacts" and I have to use my task manager to quit. I have tried EVERYTHING on the PALM site that is suggested to try to fix it. What should I do now? I know there has to be more than just two of us out there having this problem. Any help would be great!

I'm searching forums.
I was able to sync it after unplugging the USB from my PC, then plugging it back in.
My dern pTunes doesn't work now.

I installed 2.11, and can still hot sync. However the first thing I noticed is this update reinstalled Pocket Tunes (my MP3 player of choice) and wiped out my skins. So I have to spend time downloading, reinstalling and configuring PocketTunes the way I had it. I'm sure there's other problems I'll discover shortly that will cause me to waste time rebuilding my configuration.
I'm sick and tired of this sort of sleazy marketing ploy. This AT&T update appears to be nothing more than "features" that enable us to purchase more AT&T fee based services. They neglect to mention that "Push to talk" is a fee based service. You'll discover that as soon as you launch it. And the additional ring tones support is for downloading AT&T content. This is really bad business! I'm a long time Handspring/Palm/Treo user who's ready to switch to a Symbian device any day now.

Well, I finally got everything going and it seems to work so far on my 680. But, the real test will be tonight. Usually working a 12-hour shift leaves my battery anywhere from 20% to completely dead.
I'll let you all know if the battery life is worth the update by tomorrow morning.

How did you get the sync to work? I have done EVERYTHING! I called MyPalm twice and the second time I called they said they would have to call me because I was not a member (which I am) and that I needed to call AT&T and have them resolve the issue for me. Which I know AT&T is going to tell me to call Palm. I am so irritated and aggravated right now.

That's pretty crappy customer service they have.
I unplugged the USB from my PC and re-inserted it. I use a cradle and it sometimes isn't seen or recognized by my PC.
It also froze bad and I had to pull the 680 out of the cradle and yank the battery.
Keep trying it.
Battery life seems to have improved nicely. By the time I got home from work, I still had 60% power. However, I didn't use it all that much at work. I will tonight, though and let you all know how it goes.

Well, folks.
Their little battery fix upgrade seems to not do much.
I had my 680 plugged in and charging all day before going to work graveyard shift. Had it plugged in the car charger and unplugged it at about 17:25.
The battery was at 10% by 01:15 with moderate usage.
Grrrrr.

Cannot Agree more with this. The only reason I installed this rom update is because I wanted to get better integration with ring tones. DREAM ON. This update installs a bunch of Useless features that you'll need to activate through AT&T for additional fees.
I think AT&T Marketing guys failed to realize that a lot of people who get these Palms are adults who don't need toys to fiddle with. I just installed Minitones and that solved my problem of cheesy ringer sounds.http://www.everythingtreo.com/option,com_docman/task,cat_view/gid,96/
BTW. When I ran my update, I removed the sim card. Everything ran smoothly. Maybe that's why........I don't know.

Patch fragged my documents to go...
I did not have any of the usual problems installing the patch. It seemed to go fine until I tried accessing my "Documents to Go" software. When I access it my phone soft boots. I tried reinstalling the handheld appications and reinstalling the main program. I even moved all my documents from my card to the phone thinking it was a card problem.
Anyone have any thoughts??
