Documents To Go Version 8.002 and 10.002

I tired to download the new version of Documents to Go 10.002 to replace the 8.002 version that came with the phone but the icon is still on the handheld from the previous 8.002 version and I cannot see any of my files that are stored on my sd card. It doesn't even show the new icon that version 9 and 10 has (the three colorful boxes) only the version 8 icon. According to DataViz Tech, it has both 10.002, 8.002 and 6.00 versions of Documents To Go.

I contacted DataViz and they advise to uninstall both on the desktop and pda and reinstall the new version. I followed their instructions exactly and have already tried to uninstall Documents To Go from the desktop and on the Treo 680. But the program will NOT delete from the pda. Apparently it is still on the ROM. How do you delete something from the ROM?

Yep, what can be done is to change the category of the DTG version you do not want to see. Third party launchers excel at this. There are applications that "hide" files, but that can lead to problems down the street.

As for ROM files, unless you wish to do a custom ROM, those files will live there forever.
