Default Help a new guy decide!

Hello all! I will be purchasing my first palm treo tonight. A refurb from ATT. I am torn between the 750 with windows mobile 5 or the 680 with the palm OS. As this will be my first PDA phone im not sure which to pick. I have been amazed at the freeware out there for palm but hate knowing there is something NEWER out there for only a 10 dollar difference. I have googled for days of good comparisons but came up empty handed. Any input would be awesome! I am planning on getting an unlimited data package (if that makes any difference). Pros and cons would be great along with personal opinions. thanks again!

Without a lot of babbling - if you want multi-tasking, go to WM. If you do not need multitasking, then stick with Palm. No matter what they say, not everything in the Palm world exists in the WM world and there are some Palm applications such as ChatterEmail, DateBook 6, TakePhone, 2Day and Documents To Go that are unmatched in the WM world.

I have had 4 WM phones (the 4th the 800W). The 800W has been exceedingly stable and I have enjoyed playing with it - it is the only WM phone I have kept for more than 1 week. Anyway, I sorely miss those Palm applications I mentioned above; however, 'cause I want multi-tasking, I am sticking with the 800W. The reason: I use my device for extended periods of time and starting/exiting and restarting applications is a pain when it has to be done multiple times. Also, you cannot customize a WM device as much as you can a Palm device. Sure it is nice to have WiFi (if you use it). Sure it is nice to have GPS (if you use it).. Sure it is nice...but the battery at this stage of the game suffers real bad. Decide what you need and then go from there. If I did not want multi-tasking, I would still be using my Centro with its extended battery.

Well, what im going to be doing the most is messaging via the web, checking email, moderate surfing of the web and just getting myself organized. I dont think I am going to be downloading a TON of freeware but I would like to give the phone my own personal touch. I was just concerned the 680 would be a dog on the web. I am not in a 3G area, but would the 750 still be faster?
