Help turning OFF Autosync!

I'm using VersaMail, but I have NO data plan. I was told not to worry; there is a way to set it to only sync when I'm using HotSync through the desktop. So, cool, I have everything configured properly, and have turned off AutoSync. Yet I discovered yesterday that, when I write an email and put it in my outbox, it SENDS IT whenever it feels like it instead of waiting for me to HotSync!
When I accidentally press "SEND" instead of "OUTBOX", it asks me if I want to connect, and I say NO. I put it in the outbox which is supposed to wait for my HotSync. But it sent the email sometime later, as did another message, when I did NOT accidentally hit SEND but sent it right to the outbox.
Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere? I've looked in every single menu there is! Everything else seems to be working fine, just the problem when I actually want to write an email.
I don't want to lose this functionality just because I can't afford a data plan, and don't need one. No luck trying to get to Palm VersaMail support either; if it exists, I can't find it. Cingular will have no clue what is going on but thats the only place it sends me.

PS I saw mention somewhere of a utility that helps you to REALLY erase all of your stuff off of an old unit. I had to replace my 680 and want to erase everything off of the old unit before sending it back. A hard reset won't do it, it seems?

Hi Pyrrh,

I'm thinking if you try to put in the drafts folder instead. I don't know if that will help but it seems that my e-mails don't automatically get sent from the drafts folder just the outbox folder.

Just a thought. Let me know if it works.

P.S. Also, someone already had a problem with their 680 and had to hard reset their unit. Check the forum list. There's a post on it.
