This is so frustrating, because I had it set up correctly about six months ago, then got a virus and haven't been able to get it to work ever since.

I have a Treo 680 on Cingular/AT&T with a MediaNet unlimited plan. Last summer I was able to set it up using USB Modem to tether to my laptop and it worked great. I remember having some problems getting it to work at first, but I did finally set it up--took me about two hours.

THIS time, however, I can't get it to work and I've been trying for DAYS. I have the correct dial in numbers, username and password. I enable the modem mode before attempting to connect, but I get the same error message: Error 692: There was a hardware failure in the modem (or other connecting device).

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I've uninstalled USB Modem from both the phone and the computer and reinstalled on both. I've double-checked everything I can think of to double-check. This is getting really frustrating.
