Default How do I turn the treo off?

I know that this is probably the stupidest question ever. But I just got the 680, and how in the hell do you turn it off??? I know when I press the red power button, it turns the phone on, but it still functions as a pda. How do I turn it off so I can conserve my battery at work?

I believe that when you turn the phone of by holding down the red button you stop the primary power drain. The pda will stop functioning automatically when the screen goes black and you go into the keylocked state--no power drain. Of course make sure your not browsing the internet and also to turn pda off just simply briefly push the red button.

There really is no stupid questions. I think what I have said is correct. If not I'm sure one of the more experienced will help.

Turning off the phone is accomplished via the red button. Turning off the Treo itself is another thing, as it does not actually turn off. Shutting the screen down takes care only the screen. If you truly have to have it "off," then pull the battery. If you have an alarm set to sound, it will come alive. If you have an email application set to run in the background, it will come alive. If you...

I don't know for sure if this actually shuts off the phone/Palm without removing the battery, but I will turn off the phone by holding down the red button, and I will then go to the Security option and tap, "Lock and Turn Off".
