Anyone know how to turn music from iTunes into a ringtone?

download a freeware program called minitones then convert it to a ring tone

Doesn''t minitones use mp3's only? I think itunes uses some other format. Anyone know how to change the format to mp3?

In iTunes, under the 'Advanced' menu, there should be an option that reads 'convert selection to MP3.' (It's there in the Mac version of iTunes 7.1.1)

In Windows version of iTunes there is just the "Convert to AAC" selection (iTunes 7.1.1.5)

You have to go to preference and in importing options change importing from ACC to MP3, then you will be able to convert to MP3
