Default Java platform for Garnet 5.4.9

I have a new Treo 680 and I went to install the Opera Mini browser for Palm. It said that I need the IBM WebSphere Everyplace Micro Environment JVM, but Palm no longer has distribution rights for it. Can anybody tell me where to get it or another Java platform that will work? Thanks in advance.

Do you mean you are not able to download the Java enviornment application?

    The recommended files are:

    J9JavaVMMidp20.prc
    JavaVMCheck_enUS.prc - your language file
    fileconnect.prc
    j9secpol.prc
    pipmop.prc
    PIMPrefs.prc

Those will get you going and provide the "extras" the basic installation does not give you.

I downloaded the zip file from mytreo.net. It's called weme571.zip and is the complete IBM package. I don't know how long that mytreo.net will have the file available, because they're probably in violation of the licensing agreement. I do appreciate their making it available to us though, since there are no other solutions available.

The instructions (PDF file) were in the zip file and it was pretty easy from there. It works fine, too.

572 is the latest release and offers a tad bit better stability (not that it helps though).
