Missingsync Help!
Hello all,
I am currently trying to get data from my treo 680 onto my mac. I am using a program called missingsync which supposedly does this, however I am having much difficulty finding where the backed up files are going. The program says they have been successfully backed up however I can't find them anywhere on my mac. Does anybody have any experience with Missingsync that could help me out? (I tried calling tech support, its an answering machine). I feel like it's going to be a really easy fix but I can't figure it out. Thanks in advance!

Are they files, documents or web pages? Are you not using the Palm Desktop Program? Thats is where they will be.

It depends on what sort of data you're looking for. Open Missing Sync to the "Conduits" tab. If you're looking for files that you think should have been copied from your memory card to your desktop, click on "Mark/Space Folder Sync" and then the "Settings" button. It should tell you what the source and target directories are set to.
If you're looking for Notes, open the "Mark/Space Notebook" application. If there's nothing there, again, check the settings on the "Mark/Space Notes" conduit in the Missing Sync Conduit settings.
If you're looking for Photos, check the settings on the "Mark/Space Photos" conduit in the Missing Sync Conduit settings.
If you're looking for your contacts, calendar, or to-do items, that will all depend on how you set up Missing Sync to sync. Generally, you'll either be syncing to Entourage or to Apple Address Book and iCal. Try opening those applications and see if your data is there.
If you're just looking for the backup files that were made (say you want to revert to an earlier backup) you're probably better off using the Mark/Space Backup conduit to restore from previous backup. However, if you're really intent on getting at the individual files that were backed up, you'll find them in Documents/Palm/Users/[your handheld sync name]/Backups (that's inside your own user directory).
Don't mess with that Palm Desktop program. There's a reason they named Missing Sync what it's named.
Hope that helps!
