System Tools or Repair MS Activesync and Tmobile with Treo 680

I am attempting to use Activesync to access email/calendar/contacts on our corporate exchange server.

I'm using a Treo 680 and tmobile. I can get the Treo to sync. However, after the first sync completes, the Treo resets itself (soft reset). From then on, every time the phone goes on, it retsets itself. This happens even if I first use activesync after a hard reset, so it is not a conflict with some other application.

Does anyone have this combination of Treo 680/Tmobile/Activesync working? Is there some tweak that needs to be applied?

I just bought the Treo, so software etc is supposedly up to date.

    Thanks,
    Eric

    Hi and welcome to ET:

Sounds like it is possible you might be syncing corrupted data onto your Treo. Are you syncing email, contacts, tasks, the works? If so you may want to do a Hard Reset (all data will be lost) and start over by setting the conduits to only sync one category at a time.

If Contacts syncs okay and then you do Mail and the resetting starts again that would indicate you have a corrupted email to search for.

Let us know what you do and how you make out.

    Default yes, but...

I am syncing all my data, but for the very first sync, it doesn't seem to want to allow me to sync only one of the categories.

Any suggestions. This would be different if it weren't the first sync.

Could you explain that a bit more? Do you see an error message? So you haven't yet done a sync? I thought you indicated this was failing after the first sync was successful?

What is the sync set to do, "Synchronize", "Desktop Overwrites Handheld", "Handheld Overwrites Desktop"?

Did you just install this on your PC? What version of PD are you using and what OS is your PC? Did you choose to sync with Outlook or PD? Is the HotSync icon in the tray (assuming Windows)?

    Default not clear...

    Perhaps I'm not being clear.

I'm not hotsyncing. I am attempting to use over the air Exchange Active Sync to sync with an outlook/exchange server.

Regular cable based hotsync works fine.

When I use Exchange Active Sync for the first time, it needs to sync Calendar, Mail, and Contacts. There is no option for a sync of just one database the first time. It is that first EAS that is failing.

What version of Exchange is the server running?

Not sure if this applies, but there was an EAS update at Palm, here.
