With that program I'm kind of thinking a litle more about the blackjack especially after heraing from outkast who has one and likes it. Still the doubts about active sync and past experiences with that are troubling to me.
One other note of importance: Java...for some odd reason, Cingular has made it so that any app that requires Jave (Google Maps, GMail App, etc...) require a constant approval of the app to connect to the net. You hit submit or approve multiple times for no apparent reason other than it is not a Cingular signed app, and of course, they won't sign a app without money involved.
Look at the upcoming iPhone for proof of the money grubbers that they are becoming...

It never amazes me that someone will have trouble with anything. Of course it's always the "other guy's fault". Like the last post, have you done anything to try to correct the problems? I've been in electronics for 30 years. I've yet to see a brand new product come out without ANY issues at all.
It's also funny, but I'm not having any problems with my 680. I guess it just likes me.

save the drama you are trying to start

The last post on this thread was around Jan 2007 the height of the issues. What is really funny is you searched for it and bought it all back up ... not sure why.
But I will respond because I was a main complainer of the phone. You say people will complain about any and everything and you are right... I will complain about a 'PHONE', let me say that again - I will complain about a P-H-O-N-E that does not call out. Despite everything I held on to the phone 6 months passed my better judgment and it was not until recently that they released a patch or a fix or whatever, so depending on when you actually got your phone you may not have experienced any issues! But please dont come up in here and just allude that people complain about nothing. The phone was a paper weight until the last few fixes they did. Mind you we all paid our monthly dues and would be without service more often then not. So yes I complained and all the calls into cingular and palm obviously got something done.
Imagine we all sit and be a world of passive aggressive folks holding it all in ... not good for your health.

And how many Treo's were sold? How many other people are having problems, and didn't install any third party apps?
Nothing is perfect made by man. If you look at the situation with the Palm OS you would understand the delays in getting a fix out to customers. Palm Inc. didn't like it, but didn't control the process either PalmSource, now ACCESS had that control. Now they don't and the REAL Palm, the one that created the name is now back in full control of development. Why? Because ACCESS (or it by any other name) FAILED!
So, who are you mad at? The Hardware vendor (Palm) or the software vendor (PalmSource/ACCESS)?
Buy the way, passive is sitting around paying monthly "dues" rather than having a failed device replaced under the warranty.

So, did the iPhone meet your expectations?

Phone: Treo 680...now? Waiting for the new Palm Pre. Waited and went to the iPhone. So now the Pre is on GSM...what to do??
Carrier: Rogers, T-Mobile, BTL, C&W, AT&T, Vodafone (Italy)
Case: Incase

It is not a Cingular issue - it is an issue of the Land of the Java Environment. The file you need j9secpol.prc and of course after it is installed, check the Java configuration. PM if you do not have it and I will email it to you.
