My gmail on my phone sends me all my sent emails any help?

i tried changing all my preferences on my phone so it wouldnt send me stuff that contains my email addy in the to or all that stuff but then it puts my phone on lock down and i cant get any email. Does anyone know how to delete their email and not have the emails you send show up in your inbox? If you can help can let me know
