New user to the Treo life...AND I DONT GET IT!!!!!!!

1) How the hell do you use the desktop manager. Were do i go to add songs and images to my Treo 680?

2)How do you install software to your Treo? I know on the WM device you add the compressed file onto the phone, then on the phone you can installl it. But for my Treo i put the file on my SD cars then insert it into my Treo and nothing comes up when i go to the SD card???

3)Does the phone turn off?? I mean the screen goes off but the actual phone does not shut off. Yea the Phone turns off so you cant get call, but i want the phone to SHUT DOWN, you know like other phones do when you hold down the off button....-.- Also why the hell does the phone have to cut on when i insert the battery? Cant i have a choose if i want the thing on or not. I think whole insert battery automatic on and how the phone really does not actually turn off is just plain stupid.

Not to be rude, but have you read the manual? Have you installed the Desktop manager that came on the CD that came with the device? Software installation follows much the same path as on WM. WM requires Active Sync, POS requires Hot Sync or some other means of getting the file to the device. Hold the red button down will eventually turn off the radio, i.e., the phone.

palm folder opens all you need including the 'just drag and drop' files and photos and music.

Programs are downloaded to comp then dragged over and when you hotsync it all gets added.

Yea the phone turns off so you cant get call, but i want the phone to shut down, you know like other phones do when you hold down the off button....-.- ok, when the screen goes blank, the phone is still on to receive calls. Hit the red button, screen lights up then hit the centre button to access the phone releasing the keyguard. Hit the red button again holding it down a second or two and the phone will shut off. You should hear a distinctive tone for powering off and powering on. also why the hell does the phone have to cut on when i insert the battery? Cant i have a choose if i want the thing on or not. I think whole insert battery automatic on and how the phone really does not actually turn off is just plain stupid. you'll need to take a deep breatha and retype this last part, since it is not clear what you are asking.

My 680 has always, since I bought it doubled any letter or number I touch when not using the stylus keypad. I have gone thru 6 Treos and they all do the same thing. Might be software related but I can't image what software would cause this to occur.
Also, for some reason not explained I always have several of my contacts out of order, but in alphabetical order, above all other ordered contacts. I can find not reason for this.
All contacts are listed
all names last first same
just weird things with this phone.

If that has happened with one Treo, i'd bring it back immediately!
If thats happened with more than one Treo.....Maybe the only constant is your computer. Maybe a virus?
