No More Copper?

Palm info Center is reporting that Palm will no longer offer the copper (orange) unlocked 680. I went to Palm's site and didn't try to check out with one, but it is still showing on their site.

Maybe they are not making any more in the copper and when the stock is gone its gone forever unless some enterprizing company comes along and makes replacement bodies.

Thats just it . . It never left Palm's site the best I can tell . . . But Palminfo Center was claiming that they were not going to make it any longer. They must have ran with an internet rumor maybe??

I'm guessing they didn't produce many and it went out of stock. I don't think Palm is moving too many copper unlocked Treo 680's. I still don't understand the rationale behind the color choices (or lack of rationale). During my interview, it seems they didn't research the colors much before going with the current crop. If memory serves me right, aren't the Treo 680 colors similar to the old Handspring Visors (of which I had the copper Visor known back then as Orange).:laugh3:

I have been trying to remember my Visor Prism and some sort of timeline. At least 7 years ago, and maybe longer was when I had that one. I ordered it and the Phone Module at the same time, as soon as the module was offered! Mine was blue, and I really hated that color But if you got a color capable unit, that was your only choice! It was truely a whiz-bang device at that time! Plug in the phone module and turn it on! Surf the net, get your email, and even call someone. The phone part sucked! Forget one handed use! The data side ran at a whopping 9600 baud rate! But all my family and friends were amazed!
