    Default Notepad for Treo

My other Palm is a Tungsten T3, I much prefer the Treo 680 but one application I miss is notepad, being able to make simple drawings is great.
I'm not sure why it was dropped from Treo, but is there a version that works on the 680?
    thanks

Another to try is Teal Paint - http://www.tealpoint.com/softpnt.htm. I saw another one last week, but dang if I remember where I saw it.

Or if you have access to an older Palm with Notepad on it, use the freeware FileZ to beam its files (2, I think) over to your Treo....

Works fine. One of the first things I missed (and added) when I shifted to Treo from my TX.

Is Filez better then just the palm files application?

Frankly, I've not tried the Palm Files Application - a program new to me when I moved to Treo.
I've used FileZ for quite some time over a range of Palms and so I'm familiar with how it works - and it has caused me no trouble whatsoever. I guess its a case of whatever you're most comfortable with.

A side benefit (I discovered) of beaming over Notepad from one's earlier device is that if you had Notepad entries in the old device, those too can migrate over to the Treo. Now granted, I use Notepad mostly for quickie notes to myself (even colouring the screen 'sticky note' yellow), but there were a couple of things I was glad I could move over.
Its a pity that Palm dumped Notepad support from their Desktop, too - rather like what they did earlier with Expense (which I also beamed over to the Treo) - they seem determined to make their devices less useful with each new release....

    Default Notepad?

If you don't have a previous version you can beam, what can you do to get notepad?

    Thanks,

Find a friend with an older Palm?

Failing that - and remaining free - the above mentioned Diddlebug program seems to be popular, though I've never tried it -
