repair and hard reset
Hi, if anyone can help me please do. I recently had to replace the screen on my unlocked 680 because it got damaged and now the signal is lousy. I dont know why, but in places where I used to get good signal I dont, also I have to do a soft reset very often. My question is should I do a hard reset after having the screen replaced? Do you think my reception will improve and I wont have to do so many soft resets? I mean when the phone starts searching for a signal and it cant find it theres nothing left to do but to do a soft reset.
Thank you very much

I am not a repair tech, but I would have to wonder if during the disassembly and reassembly that perhaps a connector was loosened and may not be making proper contact.
A screen replacement should not affect reception unless the screen frame is a part of the grounding or a conductor. An antenna connection that is loose would. I suppose it is also possible that a shielded wire that is pinched or got nicked could also affect reception.
You might want to consider back-tracking your assembly/reassembly to check all wiring and connectors. The 650 connectors were tricky and required quite a bit of pressure before they would fully snap into place.....

thanks
Hi steve, thanks for your suggestion and help. what I am going to do is take it back to where they did the work and have them check the unit for those things that you mentioned. I will keep you posted and thanks again.

elcape, sorry, I assumed you had done the replacement.
Yes, do have the shop check their work and let us know what happens....
And welcome to ET!!!
