rrrr.... Frustrated 1st timer treo owner

ok i just bought 2 treos for me and and my wife, and i want to add music on them for ringtones, i downloaded minitones and all that. the thing is... on WMP when i try to sync there is nothing there. like it wont find the device. i went to options and the darn device isnt there. did i do something wrong or is this a common problem. i installed the cd and everything. i dont think i missed anything. any help would be appreciated.

Check the verions of WMP version 9 is fine some older and some newer versions don't synch properly also it wont recognize the phone unless pTunes is on

I have tried to use Windows Media Player 10, and 11, as well as my Musicmatch (paid program) to sync to my treo and never been successful with any of the programs (sync-ing with pTunes - paid program.) I don't know what the problem is but too many bottles of aspirin, and time, were wasted on it. I could never get a successful sync with my playlist from my desktop.
I pop my media card out of my Treo and into a reader and just drag and drop now. Found it went much quicker, and was easier. I just shuffle my music on my pTunes. Works for me but I wish I could have got them to work with either program.
