It sounds as if you have used a combination of things you found out there, but you shouldn't have to make the new connection you describe if you actually have subscribed to T-Mobile Web (Previously called Tzones). Here is what I suggest you do.
1. Update your Treo. There is a new update available. Previously it defaulted to T-Mobile Internet every time your Treo reset itself, but now it defaults to the service you presumably have, which is still called T-Zones on the phone.
2. Hit the home icon on your Treo and navigate to Prefs. Choose Prefs, and then under 'communication' choose 'Network'. You should see a drop down list at the top of the Network page for 'Service' , and one of the choices should be 'T-Zones'. Choose 'T-Zones'. If you do not see T-Zones on the list, perhaps you do not HAVE the service and you need to contact T-Mobile. Make sure that T-Zones is selected. It cannot be edited if it came to you from T-Mobile, and it has all the right settings in it.
You don't need to put in any information about the APN etc. Do NOT put anything into the line that says User name: 'tap to enter name'. Leave this just as it is, nothing in it.
3. Now hit the Home key again and this time navigate to 'Web'. Select 'Web' and when the Blazer browser comes up, hit the menu key on your Treo . Choose 'options'. Under 'options' select 'advanced'. Under 'advanced' hit the radio button for 'set proxy'. On the 'set proxy' page tick the box for 'Use custom proxy server'. Enter
216.155.165.50 on the dotted line for the proxy server.
Enter 8080 on the dotted line after the word 'Port'
Make sure you say 'ok' on the page before hitting your home icon again.
This is all I had to do, and my Treo connects perfectly with the Web, but only with sites that are accessible through the Blazer browser. No streaming radio, no Google Maps.
You didn't say if you are able to get your email (I have 3 accounts that work fine, including a university account and gmail). If you can't get your email, perhaps you don't really have T-Mobile web. If you are getting GPRS signals you should see little green squiggles above the battery indicator bars. Do you?
