Default TomTom Navigator 6

Someone braver than I can test this and let me know if this works with the 680. =P On the Palm website it does not list the 680, and it says its only compatible with the smartphones listed. I'm not even sure who else to ask - guess I'll email TomTom and Palm directly and ask them what's up.

Yes - could someone please find out if the Palm GPS Navigator Smartphone Edition 2 (TomTom 6) works on the Treo 680? I want to get this for my 680 (not shipped yet), but only if it is compatible (obviously).

Thanks,
Muchmore

I called Palm today and even they don't know if it works with the 680! (which I find hard to believe)

PLEASE - could someone out there try it with the 680? Thanks!

Today I got my Treo 680 and was all excited UNTIL I inserted Palm® GPS Navigator Smartphone Edition 2 (Navigator 6)SD card. NOT COMPATIBLE. Called TomTom and Palm and Cingular tech support - I am sending my 680 back and hanging on to 650. Per TomTom and Palm, they are working on (will be) on a software upgrade for 680, but no time line commited. They mentioned the 700 series had same issue and it took them 4-5 months to make it work. So, I recommend stay close to your 650 and wait to see what they do. What a shame, especially since both products are fairly new.

Default

Hi there, I am new to these forums, just having acquired a Treo680.

I bought TomTom ver 6 to use on my MIOA701 (Windows Mobile 5) but was also encouraged that it also was supported by the Treo 650, so I thought, well the 680 must also be compatible.

NOOOOOOOOOOO

Its not. I downgraded the application software to ver 5.21 and yes, it works, but won't find the ver 6 maps. So now I am scrounging around to find some version 5 maps.
I guess in the long term TomTom will come up with an upgrade to version 6 which will be compatible, but for the moment - NO

Default There is a fix available!

I just gought the Treo 680 today. I am fascinated by this device. what an improvement over my Treo 650 - i can actually run Goodlink and TomTom 6 at onece.

There is a fix provided by Palm for Treo 680. It is available at:
http://www.palm.com/us/support/downloads/gps_nav.html

They also have the fix for Treo 750 there. I applied the fix on my Treo 680 and Voila!

Good Job Palm and TomTom!

Default Palm Offered a Fix - But Little Too Late

It took Palm several months to make TomTom Edition 2 compatible to Treo 680. Not something one expects from Palm, especially since Palm had the exclusive rights to sell TomTom Navigator 6 for months. Folks like me, moved on to another PDA. Hardly a commendable fix - day late and a dime short (in Palm's case, a customer short)
