Default Treo 680 and Microsoft Vista

Tried to install latest Palm software to Vista today, but no luck.
Any one have an experience here?
There is nothing on the Palm site that I can find.

Other sites report mixed success installing the Desktop - sometimes yes, sometimes no - and somtimes the Desktop installs but not Quick Install.

Have you tried running it under XP emulation?

Others report success with earlier Desktops. Maybe try installing one of those? I know the paperwork with he 680 suggests it won't work without its own version, but I run the last downloadable Desktop on my office machine (XP) and the 680 works just fine with it.

Palm/ACCESS says 'its working on it for Vista' but given the OS is 2 years late, one wonders how hard they've been working. Like, the OS is a suddenly a huge surprise....?

More sloppy Palm Support.

the palm site indicates that quick install will not work with vista. And yeah like vista has come as a great shock to palm. I agree they are more than a little behind

I have tried almost everything to make vista work with palm desktop. Succeeded with backup, but could not make palm desktop work. I had to downgrade back to XP in order to keep using Palm Desktop....Sucks...
