Smart Phone Idiot
I took the update this weekend (unlocked Cingular) I have taken a few updates on Treo devices in the past . . Always kind of make me nervous, but they they seem to go OK . . Until this one . . . I hope Chris won't mind, but you can read all about it here with this additional info . . IM+ had to be totally wiped out and reinstalled . . . Don't ask me why . . It refused to log on period even though it recognized my Reg Key . .
All of this for:
-A camera Patch I had already installed
-A DST Patch I had already installed
-A new ATT greeting vs the old Cingular one . .
I am wondering if it was really worth it . . .

I've been trying to install this update with my Mac and Treo 680. Every time I insert the SD card with the Palm folder in the root directory, my phone doesn't respond at all. I've tried two different cards and had the same success. Any advice or tips?

Does anyone know if Cingular (now the new At&T)is going to have an updated Treo? I don't think it will be the 755p since that seems to be CDMA. I have a 680 but it's given me some problems; it almost has me thinking of the 750..... except I'm not a big fan of the windows version. Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks all.

I also have a cingular-branded unlocked treo 680 that I'm using with a different carrier. I did the update, and the jibberish that I was experiencing on a daily basis is gone. I have only had one random reset and that was from a 3rd party program.
I used the SD card method and it went very smoothly.
