I have a question. There's been two battery meter reset ways that I've found thusfar. One is plug into wall charger, remove battery, wait one minute, remove SIM, wait another minute, replace SIM and battery and lat charge for at least 5-6 hours. The other one is the same, but you DON'T replace the SIM card while charging for 5-6 hours.
Would the actual battery meter reset method please come forward?

It doesn't matter if the sim card is in or not when you do this. The only advantage to not inserting the sim is that your treo won't be disturbed by incoming calls during the charging period.

Hmmm. Well, I did this with both batteries and the level was somewhat better. Took it off the charger at 4AM this morning. It's now 1PM and after checking my email three times and looking online for a total of about 5 minutes, it's down to 67% with bluetooth off. But I still have 5 more hours before I can plug it back in. Last time, it was down to under 20% by then under about the same usage.
We'll see..

Most people do this process a few times for it to work best.

Palm has quietly released a patch that addresses an issue about the camera draining the Treo's battery, even when it's in standby mode.
The patch is available on the
european Palm Knowledge Base (solution number : 10946).
(information found on
PalmAttitude.org)
I downloaded the battery update on palms support section and it drastically increased my battery life...:laugh3:
FREEDOM says: The TREO 680 ROCKS!

Well, I've done this a few times and one of my spare batteries was dead six hours after I took it off of the charger and went to work.
With minimal use -Checked my email about five times and went online twice for about five minutes each time. That was it.
I'd seriously consider getting one of those huge batteries that comes with the bigger backing to accommodate it, but my Treo wouldn't fit into it's hard case anymore.
I'm about to get a THIRD spare battery. This is nuts.

The battery on this thing sucks! My 650 was swallowed by the sea and so I decided to get a 680, bad decision. I could get 2-3 days off my 650 while off my 680 I can barely get a day with the same kind of use. This is really bad. Yes I've done the camera update... no perceptible diference here.
I've got chargers everwhere now: car, office, kitchen, living room and bedroom. Keep a USB charger and a AC-> USB convertor in my laptop bag. Ridiculous.

Actually, there's a patch at the Palm site that does fix the battery issue a bit. I still can kill my battery within 12 hours with minimal use, but it's better than a dead one in six hours like it used to be.
Look around on these posts and find the link.
