Hi. Been experimenting with this and thanks to chris I have made progress. The problem I have is that the movie I convert only plays couple of minutes?
I use : Mac the ripper and handbrake settings below:
fps: 15
Encoder: XviD
Avg Bitrate kbps: 260
2 pass encoding
MPEG-4 Video/AAC Audio
MP4 file
Language None
Audio
Language 1: English AC3 5ch
Language 2: None
Sample Rate: 4800
Bitrate (kbps) 40
I don't know what's going on specifically, but I used Handbrake (on a Mac) and use TCPMP (with the aac codec that was in earlier versions, but has been removed but is still 'out there') with the below settings - and have pretty fair success -
These are settings I originally used for my TX and the 680 seems to have no problem with it. Oddly enough, the same cannot be said of playback on a Vista machine with Quicktime installed. Staggered horribly and got a buffer overrun. What's with that? My Palm and TCPMP more powerful than Vista and Quicktime?
;)
I have no experience with Xvid encoding, so no idea on that front.
Meanwhile, I've just downloaded the new Handbrake/MediaFork for WinOS and it seemed to have installed fine on my Vista machine. The layout is a little different than the Mac Handbrake and it may take a little time to get used to the location of the settings. I haven't done a test burn yet, but I have hopes that it works well - if at all - with Vista.
