Need Help Unlocked Treo 680 update (Treo680-1.12-ROW) less than satisfactory

Reading trough the forums looking for information about problems with the Unlocked Treo 680 update (Treo680-1.12-ROW) , I've concluded that this update is far from being helpful at all.

Months ago, I've downloaded and installed the Product Update 1.12 for the Treo 680 (Unlocked version). After the install, an annoying problem has surfaced. Every morning before I left home I turn on the Treo phone pressing and holding the red key. Then, to access the Cellular network, I press the Center button to turn off the keyguard and type in my password, unlocking the phone.

Sometimes, specially after I go trough a place where the cell coverage is low, i.e. subway lines, basements, etc. the phone un-register itself from the cellular network, so I have to re-unlock the phone. Most of the times, I have to retry for at least 5 times in order to register the phone again and being able to use it for placing or receiving calls one more time.

I believe this odd behavior is related to the battery management features now included in this upgrade.

One way I've discovered to reduce (in some way) this annoying problem is to leave the phone after a call in the main apps screen (pressing the Home Icon), because -I think- the Phone app runs in the background, not in the foreground, which permits the phone reconnects itself to the network when the signal is strong enough again - no password required.

Even so, it's a pain. Access developers should find a solution for this behavior.

Post relates to: Treo 680 (Unlocked GSM)

I have never had this problem but here are two ideas. Try removing your password for just one day. if that does not work try removing any add-on software that has to do with either security or phone management. just a thought...
