Default Unlocked Treo 680 working with Cingular sim card..any issues

I am planning to get the unlocked Crimson 680 and I already have cingular service. What I was concerned about is that if I put my sim in the phone will it work correctly? Do I need to put any browser settings or help with email? Im new to the forum and I searched and searched for answers... anything will be appreciated. Is it worth just getting it thru Cingular without any problems? Thanks in Advance

I was already running a Treo 650. My wife had a sony. I bought the 680 outright from Cingular with discount through my job. I saved myself after taxes about $60 vs buying from Palm with shipping. I pulled my sim out of the 650, and put my wife's sim in it. No Issues. I Placed my Sim in the 680, no issues. Its not unlocked, but no problems . .

I have Cingular and bought my Crimson 680 back when they first released it. Question is are you upgrading from another Treo? Or are you going from a regular phone to the Treo? I came from the 650 to the 680 and there were no issues with setting anything up. Everything was already on the sim card. Only things I had to change were the shortcut buttons and the wallpaper. For some strange reason my wallpaper didn't transfer over. So, no worries everything should be fine. :o)

I did exactly what you are wanting to do and no problems. I do remember having to get a different sim card with my last phone (regular cell phone), but that card went right to work in my new treo 680.

you might have some issues sending SMS and getting online with a unlocked 680. i think cingular can push those settings to your phone.
