Vista & Outlook 2007 Sync Problem

I just got a Treo 680 for the express purpose of syncing my Outlook, but I can't get it to work.

I have installed Palm Desktop 6.2 for Windows (the recommended version) and the Palm Outlook Conduits Updater.

When I sync my phone, it says that everything has "completed with errors" but I don't see any specific error message. No information from Outlook is on my phone after syncing.

Help me please!

ps... I just returned my Blackjack after discoving that it is not compatible with Vista. I had to return my Treo by 9pm tonight if it didn't work, guess I'm screwed.

Are you saying that there's no error messages in the Hotsync log? The standard error message that pops up is kind of generic, but there should be more specific messages in the log.

Well, the first three times I tried to sync, the log indicates that there were no errors. The last few times the errors have been that a file did not back up successfully. The string of info goes like this:
-Failed to back up 1 file(s)
- PmTraceDatabase
- Protocol Error: Handheld file could not be opened. (4004)
- SYCERR_FILE_NOT_OPEN

But I ended up returning the Treo and getting back my Blackjack. I found that the Treo's sound quality was inferior and I liked the more slimline feel of the Blackjack, BUT I miss the touch screen and the larger buttons of the Treo. (Just as an aside)

Thanks for responding. I'd still be interested in whether or not there is a solution. I have two friends who are thinking of entering into the world of Vista and smartphones. I haven't given them much hope.
