    Hello ed11952,

This is Kevin from Palm. Unfortunately, I have no experience with Exchange, but there is an error message similar to yours along with a possible fix that I'll offer. In the Palm Knowledge Library article "Exchange ActiveSync error codes and meanings in VersaMail" : Error 14721 SSL: No trusted root. Fix: Verify Secure Connection (SSL) is enabled (checkbox) with correct port number.

Perhaps that may give you a lead.

"Email setup guide for the Sprint Treo 700p smartphone" also has info on setting up Versamail with Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync. Your company's IT folks may also be able to help.

    Sincerely
    Kevin

Default Having the same SSL error when trying to connect to Exchange

I just got my new 700p from Sprint and am having the same SSL error as you. My corporate office now has the phone and they are trying to figure out why it won't connect to Exchange. (They successfully connect several hundred 650s

Did you ever find a resolution to the problem?

    Please advise, thanks!

Are you trying to use Versa Mail?

Try turning off SSL and going with just regular http, port 80.

I think that's what I did to play with it. I hated it because it doesn't handle recurring appointments worth a damn.

Then, after that, get your company to invest in GoodLink

    It's way better.

    Default Exchange

I tried using port 80, without SSL, and it also failed. Using Goodlink would add considerable expense, so I would rather not.
What version of exchange are you runing?

    Exchange 2003?

Yes, we have Exchange 2003, I'm sure we have a valid SSL certificate too. I know we are obvoisly running it on port 80 and over 443/SSL. But I could only get it to work over port 80.

Your company might not have port 80 open but it was worth a shot.

I know I did get that same error. I didn't futz with it too much, but played with it prior to installing GoodLink. Yes, Goodlink is not cheep, but I'm not sure you'll like the results all that well with the versa mail stuff. It doubled up some entries, though Palm is *supposed* to have fixed that.

I knew I was going to use Goodlink so I didn't care.
