Dead Treo 700p The past two days, I had the same problem once during the day, a dead Treo. No Power at all. I take out and put back the Battery and it fires back up again. The first time yesterday it was just sitting there idle and it was dead when it pushed the buttons. The second time, this morning was when I unplugged it after recharging and it was dead, although the Battery Level now shows full, so I guess it charged up OK. Anybody else have this problem? Any ideas how to fix it?

It seems your problem is not the 700p eating up juice so much as possibly a defective battery, or possibly something wrong with the battery conduit to the Treo. If you or someone near you has a spare 650/700 battery, I'd suggest you try it for a day or so and see if you get different results. That should let you know if it's the battery or the Treo.

Thanks. It went “dead” again later in the day and then it did something even more strange. It was “On” but the Phone was not “On”. Tried to hit the Web or E-Mail and it told me to turn on the Phone first. So I press the red button to turn on the Phone and no Phone. I try to dial out and, no phone. No matter how I try it will not turn on the Phone. I take out the Battery and low and behold the Phone works again.

Do you have any advice on rotating batteries, or long a spare will hold its charge without being in the Treo? I just got the Seidio 2400 battery for trips, etc., but my original battery is still fine. I'm wondering about the best way to get the most mileage out of my batteries. |

I had the same problem as FlaBat described and took my TREO back and replaced it. I had the same issue come up again. If not for the different serial number on the phone, I would swear that they simply gave me my old phone back & said they replaced it. I am giving it until Friday. If the problem resurfaces, then I shall cancel my Sprint contract & return the phone.

There may have been a lot or batch with the same issue and using a different store may break the cycle.

It just happened again. That is it...for now. I am taking my phone back and cancelling the contract before my 14 day trial is up. I shall probably go back & get another Treo later.

Well my "Dead Treo" issue has not happened again since the post. Maybe it's just some quirks or something.

I really don't want to get rid of the phone but I shall try one last time. I am taking it into the techs today & letting them see this. I shall ask them to replace the battery & maybe even see if they have access to some of those higher capacity batteries. I like this phone & don't want to give it up but for the money paid, I will not take a lemon.
