| Took my TREO in yesterday and again they could find nothing amiss. They did say that my battery was dead. I was surprised since I had charged it the day before. I went in and adjusted the power settings and turned off "beam connect". Maybe that will help. I suspect that I shall need the extended battery. I wish they had equipped these things with a higher capacity battery. |

| What's been your activity over the day where your phone went dead? My Treo went dead yesterday, but that was due to several calls, email checking, etc and then forgetting to charge overnight.

| Decided to not try another store for now. I have already been billed by Sprint and did not have the phone for 2 weeks. I do not want to go for another phone and then end up having problems out of Sprint with another bill. Their customer service is not the best around and I prefer to not argue with them over one bill or two. I may wait until after I receive my final bill from Sprint or until this phone has been out for awhile to deal with any bugs, software or hardware.
As for my activity with the TREO, I charged it overnight, used it very sparingly, synced it, added some contacts, had it connected to my computer & the charge light showed green. I left it alone for a couple of hours & came back and it would not turn on as before. I can only assume that the store had a few defective phones with batteries in their shipment. I had no choice but to return it as the risk free return guarantee was over today.
I would like to have a TREO but I would be foolish to hold onto this phone at the price I paid with the same problem with 2 phones. I may get another one, but not right now. |

| 700P battery Seems like when the radio is on, regardless of whether it's manually checking email once per hour or getting small volume of 'pushed' email it drains completely after about 12 hours, and that's with about 4-5 phone calls per day and a fair amount of 'fiddling'. Previously I was checking for email every 2 minutes and it only drained it a couple of hours faster. No idea how long it would last if only used as a phone, but then again, why would anyone buy at Treo for that purpose? Same goes for having the radio off most of the time...?
I have found browsing the web to be disappointing....waiting way too long, a number of errors, and the small screen difficult to use to actually interact with menus and links once on a website....must take at least 5-10 times longer than using a computer to browse a website, click a link, etc. It is very quick to engage the web address, but navigating is quite maddening. I've been using Chattermail and the emailtreo.com for push email. It's a powerful combo, though I have noticed that the alerts I've created with 'rules' sometimes reach my main computer but not my Treo. BTW, Sprint is now offering a 30 day trial period...I velieve Verizon is as well. |

I wasn't suggesting buying from another store but exchanging at another store. If you happen to have one of a bad lot/batch, getting a replacement from another store might do you well. No billing involved.

| An exchange would have put me in a tough position as I was on a 14 day risk free guarantee window. I bought mine just b/4 they went to 30 days. If I had 30 days, I might have taken the exchange idea on. The odd thing is that I am not excited about that phone as I was when I did not have it. I may just forgo it completely. Further, as problematic as Cingular has been for me, I may simply stay with them & get a 650 instead. |

I have found browsing near an EVDO tower to be rather fast, even pleasant. I agree with your comments about the screen size - but I put up with it. One thing Treo could and should do is make a LARGER DISPLAY SCREEN. Also, thanks for the observation about push email causing so much battery drain. I am keen on learning all the things that drain the battery, and by how much. |

| I just purchased a Treo700p(VZW, Dec 06). The battery life has been atrocious with it not lasting an entire day of normal usage. The 650(Cingular) lasted much longer with the same level of activity. I have now got the Seido extended 3200mA battery, but that barely lasts thru the day. I do have Good(ouch) which might be contributing to the battery drain. |
