Default 700p battery life

What kind of battery life are the 700p's getting? Do you have to charge them every day?

This is only my 3rd day with my 700p but, so far, battery life seems ok. I haven't done any precise comparison but it seems slightly less than my 650 with comparable use. As far as charging goes, with Treos, top off the battery whenever possible. With their batteries, there aren't any "battery memory" issues necessitating full discharges before you recharge.

So far the Seidio 2400 Extended battery is a good thing. I'm liking it. Gettting a full day with Over the air data/Goodlink usage.

Very nice.

I got the Seidio 2400 battery as well and it's great. So far I've made about 2.5 hours of calls, my versamail fetches 3 accounts every 30 minutes, listen to 2 hours of music, etc. and it's still going!! I didn't really have any problems though with the standard battery however it is nice to be able to not have to worry about a charge.

That's one problem with Goodlink, you can't choose how often to sync, it's a constant thing.

Which is good and bad.

Informative Battery Usage

Not sure about the 700p yet as mine hasn't reached me. My friend just got the 700w. He has only used this device as a phone for a few short calls but plays with it ALL of the time and sync's (using OEM software) with his office server every 15 minutes. So far, 1.5 weeks on the OEM battery which has NOT been charged since purchase. The "meter" is still showing at 25%!

Default 700p battery life

Just got my 700p last week , but so far have been
unimpressed by the battery life .

Really dont know what to expect and whether my battery or 700p might have a problem. Older phones have lasted much longer in standby mode when near a cell tower (with full set of bars) but went through the charge faster if in marginal recpetion area. Any advice, or experiences?

I am going to do some timing experiment s to try to figure this out.

Default Treo 700p Battery experience and question

700P
My first two days of measuring battery life, with phone ON, one alarm per hour (low volume) no talk time, two or one bars signal level, range about 19 hours from charge to dead - progressively loosing 3 to 7 percent of battery life per hour. After I have done a few more tests I will post a graph.

Here is my question: What does Standby Battery Life mean?
It is published, quoted and Reported to be in the 200 to 300 hour range.
Does anyone know if this is with the Phone OFF, or with the Phone ON and no talk time?

If it is with the Phone OFF, which is what I suspect, then it is probably meaningless hype to a phone user.
I have seen in only one anecdotal report an estimate of 40 to 45 hours of Phone ON, no talk battery life - and that was unclear. I have also read another report that says that after a hard reset the battery life was great.. but how can a single thread OS leave a process running?

Experiences?

Default Treo 700p Battery Life

I have measured the battery life with the Phone On, but no talk time over two days. Between the two days I did a soft reset. As you can see from the chart, the reset made a big difference. Apparently there can be something that drains power lurking in the background! If I ever figure out what it is, I will post another message to this thread. Anway, now I would predict just under 48 hours charge to dead with Phone ON and nothing else running, no talk.
On day two, I went to bed for about 8 hours, so there is a gap in the graph.
