Where did you get your information? Do you have some links or validation to support that palm is working on this? I didn't find anything on Palm's site.
I never had issues with my 650, but with the 700, after a given amount of time, the BT radio turns off on the phone.
Pairing is not lost, but the BT radio is turned off.
My headset connects immediately once I turn it back on.
As you can imagine, having to go to Prefs-->Bluetooth and re-enabling the BT radio everytime I want to make a call, not to mention trying to answer a call is a major pain.
This needs to be fixed quickly.

Strange this is not a problem with my tomtom bluetooth GPS reciever, just the headset.
Seems that when the screen goes dark that it eventually loose the headset. |

Where did you get your information? Do you have some links or validation to support that palm is working on this? I didn't find anything on Palm's site | I've seen many threads on it on TreoCentral, MyTreoDotNet and SprintUsers. People began posting about it as soon as the 700p was available for sale/shipping. I've read several posts that have mentioned people complaining to Palm CS and being told a fix was "in the works". I've never searched Palm's site or contacted them myself. That's why I say "according to the rumor mill".

| Experience with 3 different headsets I've had similar problems but it seems to be working pretty well now with a Plantronics 510.
Have actually used 3 different headsets with varying degrees of success.
The Treo Headset worked GREAT until the unit failed (defective and returned).
When it was working, it never missed a beat connecting to the 700p.
Receiving calls. Making calls. It always connected. However, 4-5 days after getting the headset, it stopped communicating. I can connect to other BT headsets with the 700p. Also tried unsuccessfully to connect the Treo headset to a Razr.
Returned it for refund. Worked well but I wasn't too wild about the design.
A Motorola HS520 seemed to work ok but I didn't use it much on the 700p. Left it paired exclusively with the Razr (extended family 'hot-phone').
A Plantronics Voyager 510 works very well most of the time.
90% of the time, I can connect to the treo by pressing the Talk button on the headset.
When receiving calls, it normally takes 10 seconds or so for the 700p to connect to the headset. During that time, I use the Treo mic and speaker. Headset in one ear and Treo pressed to the other one.
There are times when the headset never does kick in for a received call. I can practically always get it to connect before making a call.
However, I can always re-start the connection by restarting the headset. I never have to reset or re-pair on the Treo.
It seems that the headset connects better after I un-trusted the other 2 headsets.
Now only the Plantronics is trusted on the Treo. As a side note, I've noticed a huge difference in headset performance on the Razr.
It works fantastic with the Motorola headset. Exactly like you think a headset should work. If the headset is on, the Razr finds it and uses it immediately.
But, the Razr never worked well with the Plantronics. I could connect and use it one time. Then the Razr would time out after a few minutes and I'd have to cycle the BT on it to connect to the headset again. The only workaround for this was to stop BT on the Razr after using it and then start it when I wanted to use it again.
Some times, I'd have to restart the Razr to restart BT.
So it seems that not all headset / device pairs are created equally. |

| Jabra JX10 ***Works Great*** I am glad to see that others were experiencing my same problem. In an early effort to isolate the problem, I purchased and returned a new 700p. I experienced the same issues on separate phones and different bluetooth devices (scala-500 & plantronics 640). However, I noticed that on Palm's website of "supported bluetooth headsets" the Jabra JX10 was listed. Again, I decided to experiment. This time I was successful. The Jabra JX10 has been working flawlessly! I love the design, the weight of the device, it's features, and most importantly it works fantastically with my 700p. For instance, if I am wearing my JX10 and walk away from my 700p (more then 25 feet) I do loose the pairing. However, within a few minutes of me returning back (within range) the unit automatically re-connencts (pairs) back again with my 700p without touching a button! It seems that the bluetooth radio on the 700p is frequently looking for the device and once it is found again, it connects. I can't ask for anything more. I am so pleased!
I could not wait for Palm to come out with a fix, or publicly admit it's a known bug. I need a reliable unit that stays connected now. My advice for my impatient friends, sell your existing headset on eBay and get the JX10. You will not be dissapointed. |

| Compatibility listing Just checked the BT compatibility page and the Plantronics Voyager 510 is on the Not Supported list. Palm - Support - Palm Bluetooth Compatibility
Might explain the intermittent issues I have with it. |

| I started with the Motorola H500 and returned that to BB due to it's volume for the earpiece being to low. Next I purchased the H700...BTW both of these are listed as compatible bluetooth headsets for the VZN 700p on the Palm website. I found that I have the same problems that others users are reporting...in that I initially had a successful paring and the headset worked well but after the headset and/or phone were shut off for the night then turned back on the next day...the paring was gone or one of the following occurs... 1. able to press the "redial" function on the headset...it would redial the phone but cannot hear audio in the earpiece. 2. when a call comes in..can hear the caller in the H700 and they can hear me but if call is initiated from the 700p no audio is heard in the H700. In order to get the H700 working again it has to be deleted as a trusted device from the 700p and REpaired. Upon REparing...sometimes the H700 then works sometimes it does not. Palm support via various phones calls has said that they have not heard too much about bluetooth paring problems (BS). Palm has also said that the problems are coming from "other" software installed on the 700p and/or from previous versions of the Palm Desktop on the computer that you are syncing with. I’m still searching for a “compatible” Bluetooth headset. |

| Okay, so I'm not crazy! I bought a bluetooth headset a couple of days ago and the same disconnect thing keeps happening. I took back the headset thinking that it was the problem. I guess I'll wait until Palm does their fix to get a new one and stick to good old trusty corded headset.
