700P - can this thing do video other than sprint-tv? - Treo Forums

I have a 700P for sprint. Is this phone capable of playing video files without installing any 3rd party software. If so, please help!!!!!

yes it can but we need to knwo what is it exactly that you want to do. Play movies, watch your cable TV, stream youtube/google videos and etc.

Some of these require third party apps, but I think you can live with the built in media player on the device. But if you want really good quality and so on you might want to look into 3rd [party apps.

So what do you specifically want to do with it?

What about playing a DVD, or maybe a short video that I could save on my memory card.

Can I do either of these without third party software, if so, how do I go about it.

If I do need 3rd party software then what would you suggest????

Here's a thread a member wrote awhile back about converting/watching DVD's. This should get you up and running.

if you don't want third party software you should be able to use the build in pics and video app on your device. TCPMP I do recommend cuz the play back is much better using that app instead of using the built in media player.

You can also check out the wiki for how to add movies as well.

To access movies using the defualt medi aplayer you will need the app that came on the palm cd called files. Go into file and then select your mp4 file an it will automatically play.
