700p Email Help Needed

When I first got my 700p I opted for the Verizon wireless sync feature to bring in my business email AND my private (IMAP) email. This situation just did not work well at all so I moved to Goodlink for my corporate email and that is now working fine but I still have issues with my personal email. The Verizon wireless sync to an IMAP email account is one way and not reliable. So I have two questions:

1. I understand that the mail client that comes with the 700p can't interact with an IMAP mail server directly and needs to use Verizon wireless sync. If that is true I need another mail program, one that can access my IMAP server directly via the internet. What is the very best mail application available......?

2. If I'm successful with #1 above how do I kill and/or remove Verizon wireless sync from the 700p.....?

My personal choice would be ChatterEmail which I use daily for over a year with an IMAP mailbox (which is fastmail.fm fyi). Chatter is found at http://www.chatteremail.com.

Wireless Sync is a built-in app in ROM so unfortunately you cannot remove it (without a ROM tool and a lot of hassle). But if you want to remove VersaMail, then you can delete it by Menu-App-Delete, or use an uninstallation program (e.g. Destaller). VersaMail in VZW 700p is not part of the ROM.
