| That's quite a difference. 700p also has the higher resolution screen. From a form factor, they are basically identical.

Here's a link to the comparison page on Palm's site. Hope this helps. If you have more questions, ask away. You could also take a look at Chris' review of the 700w in the Review section.

| I've been looking for a good in depth comparison, but so far I haven't found one. If I do, I'll post it here.
It's too bad too. So many reviews of the 700p and 700w but no really good comparison letting you know the way they stack up, which is exactly what a lot of people are interested in... |

| 700p > 700w i had the 700w for almost six months and all in all, it really was a very good phone once you got used to some of the quirks and made some customizations. Kudos to verizon, microsoft, and palm. For me, though, there were some limitations and annoyances that I just couldn't get over: the poor screen resolution (browsing web pages was not a joyful experience), the random lockups, the slowdowns due to memory usage, and a few more niggles.
I still felt it was the best phone on the market by far...until the 700p came out.
In short, there is nothing the 700w can do that the 700p can't. I even feel the 700p does a better, cleaner job of it. yes, the Palm OS is showing it's age but it so clean and enjoyable to navigate (coming from windows)...i have no serious complaints. the SMS message history is brilliant and I have no idea why other phones don't copy this technique.
For me, there are only three reasons to go for the 700w over the 700p: exchange service mail, program compatibility, and perfect PIM sync with outlook
I personally sync my palm with outlook PIM and it works fine. no problems thus far. I also don't use email with an exchange server (fastmail + chatteremail = godsend). The last one, program compatibility is sometimes an issue. The truth of the matter is that if a new program comes out, and it is only available for ONE OS, it will be made for WM 5.0. I'm not saying all new progs, I'm just saying the majority. Avvenu streaming, Slingbox, etc all for WM 5.0
It really comes down to screen and OS. I love the screen and I love the OS. Easy choice for me. Personally, i think the fact that the palm OS is showing its age is a GOOD thing. it has been tested far longer than WM 5.0
Yes, the 700p is far from perfect (still has a random restart every week or so, it slows down coming in and out of coverage area, battery life is not amazing) but it IS by far the best phone i have ever used/owned (and I have owned more than i should say).
Last note: the 700p is not worth an upgrade from a 650p. if your 650p is happy and working fine, save your money for the 750p/800p. one disclaimer: if you are in an EVDO area, and have some money to spend (don't we all), grab the 700p. the difference in speeds is awesome. like biblical awesome.
Just my two cents. =)

| I upgraded my 650 for a 700w and at first I was in love with the thing. I loved the Today screen that had all the info in one spot. A bit disappointed with the resolution. Then I hated that I could not get push email like I had with chatteremail on my 650. Then I could not open any email attachments because I kept getting memory low messages. I would close everything, and it would always say unable to open, not enough memory. Then the crashes and resets started. In two days I had to do two hard resets to get the darned thing to work. On day three i got fed up, and took it back and got a 700P instead. Now i am happy again. I get my email pushed to my palm instantly with chatteremail and I can open attachements! I have had no crashes except when using a particular application, which i dumped. Now all is well.
