700p with Act! or Outlook

Help, I'm a new treo user and recently purchased the 700p. We installed the Act! database and have continually had problems syncing it (contacts and calendar items missing). The treo also crashes a couple times a day. We're tired of doing a database overwrite as that seems to be the only fast solution. Research blames both the 700p and the Act! software.

We are thinking about switching over 3500 contacts from Act! to Outlook. I'm looking for some quick comments on both programs so we can determine which route to take (although we are leaning towards Outlook because we are tired with the Act! problems).

I have been syncing my palms with Outlook for YEARS without problems. Just an occasional duplication of a task or two, but I've been pretty happy. I have never used ACT, but I am very happy with Outlook
