| Oy,
What did you sync with? Outlook? If so don't worry about it. The Palm software will take care of it for you.
If not, then set up ActiveSync and sync with Outlook to save them there. The software that comes with the 700p will take care of you.
That's your best bet. |

| Hi Robdam
primarily bcoz its a much more stable platform, and I was initially a palm user since when it was palm one. Ive had the palm IIIx and V, and was very comfortable.
The windows based was crashing all the time..although after the 'ghost' server setup to prevent it from running activesync all the time it didnt crash so much. But still all the RAM would get used up and a soft reset was inevitable every 2-3 weeks.
lastly, I have a mac (and PC) and things are just so much easier..
sorry for the long ramble..hope it helps. |

| 700P vs. 700W Thanks for the info. Looking at which one is best. Any/all additional info would be greatly appreciated. (Currently Sprint T650, 3rd NEW since mid-August, Sprint now offering FREE upgrade since Palm can't seem to get it right)

| quick tip to go from outlook to palm:
Outlook Contacts -> Export -> CSV file -> Palm Desktop -> Import -> choose your csv file.
nice and easy and i have had zero problems with it messing up the fields or losing contacts.
PS. i also went from the W to the P. Personally, i love the P. I used the W for almost 7 months and really did love it but the Palm has that extra something that makes me love it even more
700p > 700w because...
Better screen
cleaner overall OS and text
more intuitive (for me)
Faster (when u remove versamail)
Doc to Go
The only thing the P loses to the W on is compatibility. If a new prog comes out it will be for SURE on WM5 but only MAYBE on Palm. Also, if you use windows exclusively and thus outlook, the W is a more seamless sync setup (though i have had no problems thus far with the P syncing with palm desktop and outlook).
my two cents... |

| Thanks/More Questions I greatly appreciate your input. FINALLY got the 700p. Was allowed to keep the 650 as well! As for Outlook, I have never had any problems and will keep using it. Any/all additional info combining the 700p with the 650 would be of great assistance. The 700p came with the latest "Desktop" app and new "bonus software."
For example: Do I have to uninstall the old Desktop app, use both or just the new one (for BOTH phones)??????? I understand that some of the "bonus software" may/may not work on the 650 but which ones????
Thanks again.
Respectfully - J

I did it was a pretty seamless transition, as far as that goes.
