Ahhh Treo Emergency
My Sprint branded Palm Treo 700p is having some major problems.
I dont know what happened to it, might have been dropped, but the "Access Powered" screen just comes up and nothing else. There is a little red light on at the top too. The Access screen just comes on, stays lit for about a minute, shuts off and then the whole process begins again. I don't care about getting this model of the phone to work, I just need to get my contacts.
I have yet to sync it with my computer via bluetooth or via an SD card. Is there ANY way I can save my contact info? I'll take the thing apart if need be. Any way to access the internal flash? I know there isn't a SIMM card but is there any other way to access this info? I took it to the Sprint Repair shop and they basically said I'm SOL.
Any hope out there for me?

If I press the reset button in the back I can get the red light to turn off. Everything else functions the same and the red light comes back when I plug in the device, remove the battery, and the device cyles once more. Could this mean anything?

Is it out of power? Have you tried charging the battery?

I tried charging it and just running it off the adapter cord. No dice.
Any way to just dump the saved info onto an SD card?

Unfortunately, I think a hard reset is the answer. This will delete all of your data and restore the Treo to factory settings.

The phone won't take to the resets. It doesnt seem to accept any inputs. I tried the warm first and nothing happened. Then I tried the hard reset and the choice never came up.
Does that light typically mean its out of juice?
What kind of internal memory is there? Would it be possible to crack it open? I have limited experience with the innards of small electronics

Call Sprint and they will give you a new one. I did and they (Verizon) did.

Thats on the way, its just theres a great deal of numbers I need off the phone. I mean I have a bill with numbers and locations but thats not very helpful. I have an older list that I used to first populate the Treo but I havent synced it in a while.

When I had the endless loop that couldn't be fixed with a reset, the only option available was a new unit (as per Verizon), I am sorry to report. I know this doesn't help, but you might consider getting a backup program (such as NVBackup) that nightly backs up your data to an SD card. Again, I am not an expert, but Verizon was very quick to say that the best remedy was a new unit. Hopefully someone elso will chime in with a better alternative.

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but my Verizon 700p has a lot more lag than my Sprint 650 did. (ie: frequent freezes when switching from Web-to-phone or other application-to-application)
Am starting to wonder if it'd help to exchange my Verizon 700p for a new one.
Is everyone else's 700p a lot more laggy than your previous models?
