Default And where is our patch?????

Every week, it seems Palm is launching a new phone or new product (Yesterday's Foleo). I have had my 700P for almost a year now and can't get a fix on all the bugs yet! Somewhere, a few weeks ago, I read Palm acknowledged the bugs and would release a patch May 28th. I am a faithful palm user, but I am really getting very tired of the white screen of death, and the "I want to sleep, leave me alone" issues my phone has. I really don't see myself upgrading to anymore palms in the near future. Anybody else fed up with Palm's irreverence for 700P users?

Just checked with Palm. Note the "...week of May 28th" vs. "...end of May".

The "week of may 28th" has exactly 3 days, 1 hour, and 44 minutes remaining. If it isnt finished yet, we can relish in the following two possibilities about our patch:

a) a bunch of underpaid programmers and product developers are working long hours at the office, using up the little precious single-serving capuccino and espresso packets while their husbands and wives at home are sitting in front of cold dinners and the kids are asking where the other parent is...

OR

b) a bunch of underpaid programmers went home at 5pm today, and a bunch of middle management guys are at home packing for their weekend "super sales team!" bi-annual reward junk-it for "hitting their numbers"

meanwhile we're sitting at home with dropped calls, laggy devices, whining about it to our friends, ensuring the future devaluing of palm's company stock.

Here is the latest posting on the Palm Blog. I guess it's safe to say we (Verizon users) will probably get our update by the time they design and release a Treo 900!

"Update:
We appreciate the frustration that has been shared and everyone's patience. I know we said we are working to deliver the 700p maintenance release (MR) the week of May 28th. We are still hoping to make the MR available for Sprint Treo 700p users tomorrow or early next week.
Unfortunately, the MR will not be available this week for Treo 700p Verizon Wireless users, but we expect it will be available soon.
Will post again tomorrow."

Default appreciating frustration

-appreciate - verb [ trans. ]: 1-recognize the full worth of. 2-understand (a situation) fully; recognize the full implications of.

-frustration - noun: the feeling of being upset or annoyed, esp. because of inability to change or achieve something.

.... Yup. And we're sure they'll appreciate our discontinued loyalty. They're like a bad spouse who always promises and never delivers until its too late.

I guess those programmers went home at a reasonable hour last night. I hope the meatloaf was good!

Default Sprint Users Rejoice - Verizon Users ?????

From the Palm Blog:

700p MR Timing

The Treo 700p maintenance release (MR) is expected to be available on Monday (June 4th) for Sprint users via the palm.com website. We will post an update here on the blog with a link to the MR once it is live. We don't have a specific date for when the 700p MR will be available for Verizon Wireless users at this time.

Default Do I hear a Blackberry in the future.

Sprint users got thier update today, with what appears to be very problematic. Now I'm afraid for the Verizon Update. The Blackberry 8830 is begining to sound very interesting....

I achieved nothing substantial from the upgrade. Same basic performance with what is now an interaction problem between Call Block and TakePhone.

My recommendation: if your device is stable, skip this upgrade.

Amen Ben! I'm with you. Seems like all the MR's gonna do, is trade one set of problems for another.Kindda get the feeling all Palm's doing is tryin' to "Polish a Turd" LOL.I ain't goin' anywhere near the MR when it becomes available for Verizon (if it ever does). These devices are supposed to "simplify" our lives, not chain us to computers and telephones with tech-support teams for hours on end, trying to resolve issues with a poorly executed "upgrade".No thanks, I'll just use my 700p "as is", & hope for the best."Hollywood"
