Apps from 650 to 700P - Treo Forums

Hello, all. I've been a member awhile and just ordered a Sprint 700P, which should be here in a few days. I have a couple questions.

What have your experiences been with apps you purchased with 650's and tried to apply to the 700? Can anyone tell me, specifically, what apps are not supported on the 700? If so, have any of you heard from developers of plans to make their apps support the 700? I read somewhere that Dir Asst doesn't support the 700 yet. Other than that, I'm open to whatever advice you can give.

Does anyone out there have a Sprint 700? Any issues unique to the Sprint model?

I am currently using a Treo 650 GSM Unlocked on the T-Mobile system. Due to trouble with emails on the Treo 650 I have contemplated a switch to the 700P but I would have to leave my 5k minuets per month with TMobile to go with Verizon or Sprint. Alternately, Tmobile offers the Windows based MDA which I am seriously considering. One additoinal reason is that Palm is sending tech support off shore, which I think is wrong. Tmobile does the support on the MDA and that is at least here! What do you think??

*Most* 3rd party apps will still work as long as they don't muck with the build in databases. Even then they will still probably behave.

When you do the upgrade the palm installer will set aside some of your 3rd party apps (not sure if it has a list or not). It didn't reinstall some of mine like ShadowPlan, but I've since used it and it's fine.

Have a Sprint 650 with PDANet/Reach. My life's blood and both time/money saving programs. No problems with PDAReach but Net acts up on all but ONE of my systems. They recently came out with a version for the 700p. Anyone know if there is a difference or will I have to buy the new versions. This may appear to be a stupid question but I have heard that they are so similar. June Fabrics sent me the "new build" a couple of months ago (which was not offered to the general public) to try and fix the problem it has with that one system. I have a feeling that the "new build" was an update for use with the 700p. Any clues or similar experiences would be appreciated?

PER JUNE FABRICS: PDANet's new version is now available for the 700p and is NOT THE SAME as the 650. There are enhanced features as well as some admitted bugs soon to be worked out. They offer a rather small discount for previous customers but it is better than none at all.

PDAReach will need NO upgrade, however.
