This should really be pinned.. ;)

    Standards I cant live without:
    Directory Assistant
    Google Maps
    Voice Dialer
    4Cast
    DateBk6
    QuickTip
    RescoView
    RscBackup
    SplashID
    USB Modem
    Real Dice Poker

I used to use BUTLER and zLauncher, however both seemed to result in some system instability so I removed them. I used to use the Lightwave ringtone software but when they newest version came out I passed. Actually, I just noticed that it's not installed at all anymore. I dont even remember removing it.

WOW!! I cant wait for the UPS truck to pull up this week with my 700p! I am so ready to start playing with my treo. I have a Samsung I500 and hope to easily transfer apps and add these new ones everyone is talking about. I'm looking forward to learning so much here.

Make your first set of programs the NeatFreak Pack from Northglide - www.northglide.com - life is easier with a package like it.

Anyway, your first third party application should be an installation monitoring application - the above is ranked highly by bunches and bunches of people. After that, then look at a good device based backup application. Resco Backup (http://resco.net/palm/backup/default.asp) and NVBackup (http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...group_id=92189) are among the best.

After that, do a lot of looking around the forums - there are excellent applications discussed.

So is it a no no to share software. The reason I ask, is I have purchased several 3rd party apps that I no longer use and i was thinking that maybe I could do some swapping with someone who might have something else. Sometimes it takes longer than the 15 day trial to realize its not as great as it appeared in the beggining. I know that it has to be with someone with the same hot sync ID. Just wanted to see what everyones take is.....

One app that I use on my 650 that I love, and have not seen mentioned is SplashShopper. I do the grocery shopping in my family. My wife enters the shopping list on the included desktop application, I resync, and wala, I have a shopping list, sorted by aisle on my phone. As I go through the store, I just check off items.

The other application that is cool if you are a golfer is IntelliGolf, it is an electronic scorecard and much more. Download your course (you can download many) and you are ready to go. Also comes with a desktop application to track your progress. I haven't tried this, but if you keep a Bluetooth GPS receiver in your pocket, there is a version that will also give you your distance to the green -- too cool!

The other thing I can't live without is a dictionary. I use the eReader e-book reader application and the M-W Collegiate Dictionary together. It works really well (much better than I expected) when the eReader is in Reference mode, you just enter the word and it goes right to it.
M-W Collegiate Dictionary also came with a Thesaurus.

I also use several other apps that were already mentioned.

It is a slightly off topic, but one of the best enhancements you can add to a treo is a 'pen stylus' While I would hate to use the little bugger to write more than a few words, it has come in handy so many times!

It is just plain wrong. Support the developers that support the community, they deserve it. Ben

    Default Expense Manager?

Can anyone recommend a simple expense manager for Treo 700p? Looking for something free/cheap that's easy to use.

    Thank you!

Checkout SplashMoney for $30. It comes with a desktop that syncs and it interfaces with Quicken.

But, I would spend the extra $30 to get SplashWallet which includes SplashShopper and SplashID too.

Thanks! That looks like a great app. Its a little more feature-rich than I'm looking for though. I'm just looking for something very simple, to record my expenses while on a business trip. A long time ago the original PalmPilot had a small app called "Expenses" that was very simple and did just that. Does anyone know if something like this is still around? Thanks!!
