Default Bluetooth Pairing problems

i have gotten two different bluetooth adapters, the motorola HS850, and the samsung WEP200....im not sure why i am having so much trouble. i have successfully paired each adapter, however, when i go to make a call, the voice still comes out the phone and not the adapters! how do i fix this. each adapter has the normal blinking lights every 3 seconds or so. is there something i need to fix on the treo 700p or the adapters?

Not sure, but when BlueTooth is acting wierd, do a soft reset (press button next to battery) and then try pairing again.

It is a problem that the Motoroloa headsets have. The Palm branded headset works fine as do some others. My HS850 (tossed two because of dead batteries) worked on the 650 but no the 700p. The HS500 works on the 650 but not the 700p. The Palm headset works on both. Ben

just as an aside... I spoke with Verizon and Palm during a conference call today. The Palm rep said they shipped the 700p's with old bluetooth drivers and they are developing updated drivers into a patch. When I pressed for a release date, however, the Palm guy wouldn't commit.

Hi all, thanks for all the info for this newbie. Just got my 700p & Plantronics M2500 headset. I've followed directions that came w/ headset but can't get this done. It's probably worth noting this is my 1st experience using a bluetooth device. Upgraded from Treo600. Palm website lists my set as compatible. Thanks in advance for assistance.

and how long has the 700P been out? And they shipped with older bluetooth drivers and then wonder why they have these problems. Maybe they really want people to buy their palm branded accessories?

dcpardi... best bet I've found is to make sure both the handset BT and the headset are off to start.

Turn on the handset 1st, then he headset into pairing mode.
Step through adding the headset to the Trusted Devices.
Once added to Trusted Devices, you can step through the Hands-free Setup part.
As others have said, this is a bit frustrating. May take a reset or two.

I've also found that, at the end of the day, turn off the handset BT, then the headset. In the a.m., if you turn on the handset BT 1st, then just turn on the headset, most of the time they connect. By most of the time, I mean 50.1% .....

Good luck and stay in touch!
