Bluetooth Sync on 700p

Can anyone help me with a problem hotsyncing with BT. I was able to sync with BT on the 650 but I have never been able to do so on the 700p. I do not have trouble using BT as a modem. Each time I try to sync, I get the message that the com port in in use. I have tried adding additional ports and turning off all items that use the ports but the message persists.

I am having the same exact problem. I'm having to sync via the cord. In order to BT sync I have to have my PC look for the Palm and find it and then its only ggod for one sync. I hope someone has a solution.

I'm not a computer guru but I've been fighting with trying to synchronize the trio's 700 W. and the trio 700p for months . My suggestion forget about bluetooth I know you don't wanna hear that, and then exactly what you trying to sync? Wireless sync to the palm operating system, or active sync to outlook ? I'm a heavy user of outlook . so I made the decision to stick with active sync and use the cable / cradle connection. it's ridiculous that the synchronization issues are so difficult, (conflicts, duplications, network settings, security software, hours upon hours of trying to figure it all out, and then little to no help from the phone provider)! if there was a third independent company designed to handle the synchronization issues between my phone and my computer I would have gladly paid any amount not to have to do it myself !

I can tell you that I had no problem with this right out of the box. Here are some things to check.

Go to Device manager, and make sure you have a COM port listed for Bluetooth Serial port. Also make sure it is unique.
Right click HotSync and make sure local USB is checked and not local serial.
If you haven't already setup HotSync via the wizard (clicking the Bluetooth icon on your TREO, clicking Setup Devices and HotSync setup.
