| Brand New 700p Well VZW sent me a brand new 700p(not a refurb). I was wondering, what makes the P so slow? Right now it is very fast and responsive, no lag or anything. However I have not downloaded or restored anything yet. Which program is the culprit? Versamail? Datebk6? Profilecare, etc. Here whats on my back up
datebk6
versamail
takephone
2day
4cast
treomemo
rescobackup
palmrevolt
launcherX
ultrasoft money
datashield
googlemaps
docstogo10
mobilclock
destaller light
Im playing ptunes now and looking at other programs and NOT a single skip! Im starting to wonder if its all the crap we download that gives this unit such a bad name. I cant believe theres not a single skip yet. WOW
Any comments or advice? |

| My dad has the same unit, but is a very basic user and does not download anything. He never complains about the performance. Actually its funny to hear him say how its a lifesaver with all the reminders. Anyways, he doesn't have anything downloaded. Just a thought. |

| I think it's Blazer: until recently i had no real lags between applications but then a few weeks ago I started using Blazer a lot (normally I use XIINO for all web browsing). The more i used Blazer, the slower things started to be when switching to other apps. |

| Well i pretty much restored everything but Versamail. It still hasnt been too bad. I browsed a bit too. Where do I get XIINO at? Never heard of it.
I had heard before that Versamail can slow things down, but wouldnt be surprised if Blazer is a contributing factor. Any advice on a better email app? |

| removing apps Is there any procedure out there to fully remove apps on the 700p? I'd love to know how to remove things like versamail and some of the other crapware that comes preinstalled on the 700p... I know you can't prevent them from installing after a hard-reset, but how do you delete installed programs after the fact?
It's a lot like installing windows, you basically have to remove all this extra junk it comes with to make a high-speed version of it rocking and rolling on your machine.

| Versamail is NOT pre-installed and I do not recommend installing it. Since I got this new 700p, I have been using Chattermail and Operamini (web browser). What a difference!!! No text msg freezes. The phone is much more responsive.
Can't help you on the removal of the preinstalled programs. I wish I knew how to as well. |

| Pre-installed programs, those that survive a hard reset cannot be removed from ROM because there is no ROM tool available for the 700p. You can hide the applications with most third party launchers.
