Default CallRec 5.1

[edited post]

CallRec 5.1 works well. I had an issue with my recordings after upgrading from version 4 to 5.1--the sound would skip during recording. Not sure why it wasn't a problem with version 4 as I was using the exact same settings.

But, anyway, a new SD card resolved the issue. Now, CallRec 5.1 seems to be working fine so far.

I'd still like to see a feature that allows us to append recordings, though.

Re-installed CallRec 4.
Tested it.
No skips during my recording.

I'm glad I keep my old .prc files.

Best to keep them for a while. I have no issues with 5.1 and like 4x it is also set to record automagically all in/out going calls.

Hi, Ben. What SD card are you using?

A 2gig SanDisk from Costco. I have had great success with their SD cards.

Ah, thanks Ben! Maybe that's what I need, then--a new card. I was heading to Costco this weekend anyway.

Costco, what a guy. Costco's busiest store lives here in Honolulu.

Anyway, anyone (love those any things) not trying 5.1 ought to give it a try.

Yep, I plugged in a new SanDisk Ultra II card and CallRec 5.1 worked fine. Thanks for the input, Ben. My Dane-Elec card must've been due for retirement.

Will try to edit my above posts.

There are definitely cards that are just not fast enough for applications requiring quick access to the card. For the longest time I recorded everything to memory and moved the files to the card. With the two cards I have now, not a problem.

Well, I tested the new SD card several times by letting CallRec record for 1 hour (usually, I record 3-hour lectures without any problem), and the SD card has been failing during these long recording sessions. The recording is lost. When I try to start a new recording, I get a message saying that an SD card is not installed.

Going back to Costco to exchange the SD card this weekend. I'm glad they have an easy return policy.

You're right, though...the recording quality was fine until I noticed this new problem.

Hey, Ben...are you going to install the latest MR patch? Or, leaving well-enough alone?
