Can you turn off phone and keep alarm on?
Still trying to decide whether to get a Treo...Thanks to all who've provided feedback so far. I've been trying to think of the issues I will encounter having a combined organizer/phone. I've decided there's one issue that's a dealbreaker or dealmaker...Last time I had a cell, I often turned it off or to silent before I went to sleep, so I could get a good night's sleep and wake up at an hour of my choosing. I set alarms on my Palm M505. Can you turn off the phone (volume/vibrate) on the Treo and keep the alarm on? If not, there's really no point in combining the two gadgets. Thanks.

Turning off the Treo actually turns off only the radio. Everything else still does its thing. Ben

The ringer can set in two ways. One is to switch a button on the top. The entire system is now on vibrate, including alerts. You can also go into the settings and change the ring tone volume to off, yet this shouldn't effect the other system's sounds (alarms, etc.).
You can also, as suggested above, turn the phone (also referred to as radio) off. The phone will not ring and calls will go directly to voice mail.
You can also get a free application, called TreoAlarm, which will turn your phone on and off at preset times.
You seem to be spending a lot of time deliberating.
I think you should get it, you wont be disappointed. If you are, you can always peddle it on EBay, but I'm sure you will be happy.
Go for it!

Turning all the alerts to vibrate wouldn't work (because I'd oversleep). But if I could turn the ring tone off without turning off other system alerts, that would work. And if I could turn the "radio" (phone) off, that would be another solution.
The reason it's taking so long to decide is because this decision affects which provider I choose. (All other things being equal, I would have preferred a GSM phone with T-Mobile service.) But okay, I'll get the Treo. Thanks.

I've loved my 650. Now, I'm laying out the red carpet for the FEDEX guy as he's bringing my new 700p--I can't wait!
I'm sure you'll love the phone.
