Changing frequencies for signal??
Is there any way to change the frequencies the 700p uses when searching for a signal? I work in a hospital and every Cingular phone has a nice signal while Verizon has none. Is there a way I can change the network search to look for Cingular's signal?
Thanks!

no the 700p is a cdma phone and the radio is only tuned to cdma and gsm edge technology

Pardon my ignorance, but does this mean when the local Cingular goes to EDGE I will be able to get a signal? Or is EDGE only for data?
Thanks!

the 700P is a cdma phone which operates on a different frequency than the gsm/gprs cingular phone. Edge is a faster variant of gsm/gprs and you still would not be able to use the 700p to get the signal from the cingular network. To hook up with cingular you would need a 650 for gsm/gprs or a 750 for gsm/gprs. A cdma phone simply wont receive the gsm/gprs/edge/3g signal on the wireless radio (phone)

Another option with Cingular would be the 680 if you want to stick with Palm OS.
