    Default changing networks

    Hi,

My sister recently gave me her 'old' sprint treo 700p. I'm pretty sure it is CDMA (was a GSM model ever produced?). I do not however live in the US. I am wondering if it is possible for me to change the network the device uses so it operates on other CDMA networks?

I realise I won't get full functionality out of it (as EV DO is hardly a global phenomenon for starters). But I would like to get the phone working if possible, and maybe the email function.

    Any advise would be great.

There are guys who can "flash" your phone to work with other networks. That is provided that the network will accept other phones or esns.

Maybe if cricket is in your area, Cricket will allow you to use other networks phones on their network. I have a 700P flashed to Cricket with unlimited calling text and also internet working, so it can be done. You just need to make sure there is a network who will let you bring another phone on their service.

If you find one then go to ebay there are some guys there that flash.
