I am on the Sprint network and have a Jabra 500v. I LOVE my Jabra and it works great with just about every phone EXCEPT the 700p. I get intermittant good usage (with clear line of sight), but my Bluetooth signal SUCKS when the phone is in my leather case at my HIP! I don't know...I LOVE my Treo...but this Bluetooth thing continues to frustrate me. Now I own a TomTom ONE GPS device that would be able to download traffic and weather through a Bluetooth connection with a phone. TOO BAD THE TREO DOESN'T SUPPORT IT! My wife has a Razr with Cingular and it works great, but I'm not going to switch...I need a smartphone for my work. So...I have a great dilemma. Does anyone have better luck with the 755p? ...and can ANYONE tell me why Palm continues to stay stuck at the Bluetooth 1.2 rather than going to the 2.0? ARGGGGHHH!!! Stinkin' Treo Bluetooth! It's the ONLY thing left to fix, IMHO! (At least the update didn't brick my phone and it does run faster...just no Bluetooth improvement.)
The Treo's Bluetooth implementation is not the best. To reduce static, the phone needs to be on the same side of the body as the head set is. Too close to the body and the body absorbs the signal, (regardless of which side of the body it is on) so a case is better than the pocket. And that's the only thing you can do to improve the signal.
